The LSU School of Architecture seeks applicants for one full-time, nine-month, tenure-track or tenured position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with expertise in the convergence of energy, matter, and material in innovative architectural practice. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of research in architectural simulation, emerging materiality, or innovative construction. The position is intended to expand the breadth of teaching and research in architectural technology, and to integrate the School of Architecture with broader College and University programs focused on computation. Teaching, in studio and seminars, will focus on instruction in areas of digital design, building performance, and/or architectural structures at the undergraduate and graduate level. The candidate will have the opportunity to provide leadership within the College’s Fabrication Factory, the locus of computational research on the creative application of digital fabrication technologies.
Required Qualifications: Master of Architecture degree or a terminal degree in Architecture or a closely related field. Provide evidence of, or the potential for, teaching effectiveness, scholarship, creativity, communications skills and collegiality.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. of Architecture or a closely related field. Professional experience and licensure, previous teaching experience in the discipline and publication in areas of expertise.
