Clemson University: Seeking candidates for Tenure-Track position at Clemson Architecture Center in Charleston, SC


Clemson University’s Architecture Center in Charleston, South Carolina 

The School of Architecture at Clemson University seeks applications for a tenure-track/tenured Professor of Architecture who will also serve as the Director of the Clemson Architecture Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Candidates for this position must be highly qualified to both direct the Charleston center, and to teach architecture studios, lectures, and seminars. Advanced Assistant Professors or Associate or Full Professors will be considered for this position. Candidates with experience and qualifications commensurate with a Professor of Practice are also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will have expertise in sustainable architecture, urban design and/or engaged community design work, with preference given to expertise in materials technology. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues at Clemson University’s main campus, commitment to engaging with the School of Architecture faculty, staff, and students, developing a research and scholarship agenda, and cultivating connections with the professional architecture community in Charleston and the state of South Carolina. This is a nine-month academic appointment with a summer stipend for administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will begin in the Fall Semester of 2022. Start up and salary is commensurate with experience.
