4th International Symposium of the PhD Program at IIT College of Architecture in collaboration with the Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC).

Submissions must have a graduate student as the first author. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Selected full papers will be published in Prometheus, the journal of the PhD program in Architecture at IIT. Authors of accepted extended abstracts will be invited to present their papers at the symposium. Those unable to travel to Chicago can present via Skype.

Selected papers from previous (2018) PhD symposium are expected to be published in Prometheus in summer 2019.

Extended abstracts: Please use the template here to prepare a 2000-word extended abstract and submit it via the submission link by August 7th, 2019. The extended abstract should communicate research problem, objectives, methods and key findings.

Revised extended abstract: The authors of accepted extended abstracts will be invited to submit a revised extended abstract by September 1, 2019 via the online submission system and present their research in the symposium.

Posters: Doctoral students are also encouraged to submit a poster. Please submit your submission via the online submission system by August 7th, 2019.

Final papers: The authors of presented papers will be asked to submit a full paper (3000 words). Selected papers will be published in the new journal of the IIT PhD program. To see the paper template, click here.
