The College of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured appointment in building technology, to begin August 2021.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in advanced building technologies—including building envelope systems, environmental control systems, and the measurable outcomes of building performance—and should have experience integrating these into studio-based architecture courses. Additional expertise is expected in sustainability, net-zero practices, life-cycle assessment, and carbon-neutral design. A peer-recognized record of innovative teaching and research is expected.
The position will lead the integration of building science across the College’s degree programs (B.Arch., M.Arch., M.S., and Ph.D.). All candidates should demonstrate an ability to contribute to the intellectual life of a studio-focused architecture school. We expect active participation in the College and the University through student advising, design reviews, committee service, curricular development, and contributions to College publications and events.
