Primary Function of Organizational Unit              

The School of Architecture is positioned within the College of Design at North Carolina State University, with allied academic departments of Art and Design, Graphic and Industrial Design, and Landscape Architecture. The School of Architecture offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Architecture; including an accredited Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and an accredited Master of Architecture (M.Arch); and a pre-professional Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture (BEDA) and a post-professional master’s degree. Additionally, the College offers Ph.D. in Design and Doctor of Design (D.Des).

 

Essential Job Duties       

The School of Architecture is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

The successful candidate will build, theoretical, teach, and/or research projects with strengths in leading-edge digital technologies. This person will lead efforts to advance the digital design culture of the school. They will teach architecture studios at all levels and seminars in their research areas. They will also teach, or coordinate core classes using digital technology as a design tool and will participate in defining future directions of this part of the curriculum. Their research should be in the areas of digital processes and technologies with interests in contemporary practices and/or cross-disciplinary collaborations.

 

Minimum Education/Experience             

A Master of Architecture is required. Preference will be given to candidates with professional practice experience; teaching experience; post-professional degree, including a Ph.D. or Doctor degrees; and professional licensure.

In addition to or support of their work in digital technologies, candidates should display design and research excellence in one or more of the following areas:
